A useful place to begin
The early conversation is about what you want to change, which wallcovering you have in mind, and what the surface may need. Start with a question—not a complete project file.

A straightforward conversation
You can simply call and describe the room in your own words. If you have already chosen a paper, its name or installation instructions may help. Photos and wall dimensions can make a more detailed estimate easier to discuss, but they are optional—not a condition of calling or sending an initial inquiry.

Wall dimensions, material, pattern, openings, wall condition, and removal needs can all affect the work to discuss.
Questions about a surface or measurement visit can be discussed. An on-site review may be requested, subject to confirmation and availability for the project.
If you decide to move forward, we'll talk through what comes next.
What affects the conversation?
The area to cover is a useful starting point, but the wallcovering and the condition of the surface matter too. A repeating motif may require extra pattern allowance; openings and corners influence panel layout; removing older paper can reveal work that was not visible at first.
Wallpaper needs a surface that is suitable for its particular material and adhesive. A wall can look neat while still having loose paint, old paste, patches, or texture that changes how a finish adheres or appears. Manufacturer guidance varies, so preparation and application should be considered for the covering that will actually be used.
After removal, the exposed wall may need additional smoothing or repair. That condition is often clearer once the old covering is off, which is why removal and follow-on preparation can be separate parts of the scope.
